Born in England in 1895 and probably better know for his great work on mythology, "The Golden Bough" , as well as his Roman Epic "I, Claudius" that was serialized for television, starring Derek Jacobin. He also wrote a small number of verse and prose or children, most notably "The Penny Fiddle" that was illustrated by Edward Adrizzone and published by Cassell in 1960. He died in 1985.
