Charles Folkard

He illustrated many children's books after his training at Goldsmiths College School of Art in London, where he was born in Lewisham in 1878. As well as also writing some children's plays, he also created the "Teddy Tail" strip cartoon that ran in the Daily Mail from 1915 to 1960. He died in 1963 aged 85.
