Richard Doyle
A talented irish illustrator who was born in 1824. He work for the Punch magazine in the 1840's providing them with illustrations done in his own distinctive style. From the 1850's he blossomed as a great illustrator of fairy tales, copied by many but never surpassed. His best work must his illustrations of the elf world that were accompanied by a poem of William Allingham. It was published by Longmans in 1870 under the title, "In Fairyland"
