Maurice & Edward Detmold
A pair of twins born in England in 1883 they excelled in drawing animals of every sort but especially the exotic ones they found in London Zoo. Maurice sadly committed suicide in 1908 but his brother continued illustrating books into the 1920's. Among their most sought after work is "Pictures from Birdland" that was published in 1899 by Dent.
