Mabel Dearmer
Born in 1872 with the maiden name of Mabel White, she wrote a number of children's book illustrating many herself. The first book to be published with her artwork was "Wymps and other Fairy Tales" by Evelyn Sharp, published by John Lane in 1987. The next year she brought produced a book she had written and illustrated herself "Round About Rhymes" by Mrs Percy Dearmer and published by Blackie. This is considered the most desirable of her volumes to own.
