BB - Denys James Watkins - Pitchford
Born in Northamptonshire in 1905 he was to become the Art master at the famous Rugby School after studying at the Royal College of Art. Although he wrote books on Sport and wildlife for adults, children will remember him most for his wonderfully illustrated tales of the little grey men. "The Little Grey Men: A story for the young at Heart" was published by Eyre & Spottiswoode in 1946 and it contains eight beautiful colour plates by "BB" himself.
